The Negro Speaks of Rivers by Langston
In this poem I fell as if he is comparing how he feel in his life to the world. He compares everything to something on earth.

Symbolizes
The mother holding the son to her head and the image when the women is going up the stairs is the best visual representation of the poem Mother to Son by Langstan Hayhes. This is shown throughout the poem. The first image I said represent the poem shows the love the mother have for her son. It shows how she cares for him by the way she is holding him. Also it shows their bond and shows how the mother cares for him by the way she is holding him. The second image represent the mother never giving up. Even though her life was rough she kept going even when she was tired. The image looks like the lady walking up the stairs want to give up or fall down. It also looks like is painful and the stairs is rough. Just as in the poem when the mother when through splinters in things she kept climbing. That picture shows how she want her son to be, never giving up. That is why I choose those two photos to symbolize the poem Mother to Show.

Surroundings
The mother surroundings affect her surroundings by making her loving, a strong black women, believer and also she went through a lot . I know that her surroundings make her a strong black women and a believer because she said," life for me aint been no crystal stair. It had tacks in it, and splinters, and boards turn up and places with no carpet on the floor-bare." She kept going in life. She did not give up no matter how hard it was or her. That makes her a strong black women. She's a believer because she believed that she can get through it. Also she believe in herself. She is loving because she loves her son enough to give him a positive speech about not giving up on life no matter how tough it get. when she said, "so, boy, don't you turn back, basically telling him not to stop or look back when it get hard in life. that shows she is caring also a loving mother. Also she had said," for i'se still going', honey, i'se still climbing and life for me aint been no crystal stair. That shows she never gave up and she's still going. She is strong for never giving up and still going in life. By the words that she tells her son shows her love for him. By everything she's been through shows her background in how strong she is.
